Horsham has a long history of being a place known for its traditional values and also for being a closed-minded community (Monty Python's Life of Brian had to be banned in the area following its release). But, it does show signs of progress particularly in regards to its cultural diversity. The town's main theatre, the Hawthorns is a renowned international reputation for attracting high-profile performers and putting on entertaining shows.

Visitors can learn about the local history and culture in the town's museums and galleries. The Keith House is one example is a mansion that dates back to the 18th century which has been virtually unchanged since its initial construction in the 18th century. The town also has a number of tranquil parks, including Lukens Park and the Horsham Power Line Trail.



The town's prosperity was built on industries like brewing, brickmaking and iron-smelting. A lot of these have been shut down however, the town still has an industry that is thriving. The Horsham branch is part of the pharmaceutical company Novartis. It was previously part of Ciba-Geigy.  Fireplaces & Mantels  has a base in Horsham and so is the British television station ITV.

Today, Horsham is home to many independent retailers and restaurants as well as several larger chains, like the Costa Coffee chain. The town is well-known among young people and has a significant student population. The town is served by a variety of railway stations, including Horsham, Horsham Crawley and Christ's Hospital.

The town is the centre of the parliamentary constituency of Horsham that was established in 1983 and is represented by Jeremy Quin. The town of Horsham is also home to the Bishop of Horsham who is responsible for most of West Sussex and some parishes in parts of East Sussex and Kent.

Bromley

Bromley is a London borough that lies in the south-east of the city. There are numerous parks and green areas within the area, and it is served by several railway stations. It is managed by Greenwich Leisure Limited under the trademark 'Better' on behalf of the Borough Council.
